While PMI (PM International, a German MLM company) grew globally by 35% (businessforhome.org) in 2021 compare to year before, PMI Korea grew by 50+% (maeilmarketing.com) for the same period to KRW ₩300 billion (about USD $250 million). And, it was expected to close 2022 with KRW ₩550 billion (about USD $450 million) in revenue (NextEconomy.co.kr). With this growth, PMI Korea might have reached No. 3 in South Korea’s mlm industry and generating about 20% of their global revenue in one country. (Final results will be published by different government agencies sometime April and May of this year.)
This growth is something that many other foreign companies dreamed of but couldn’t accomplish. Since year 2000, there has been many foreign company came to South Korea with big dreams, good business leaders, large investments, good products, and proud compensation plan. But just about all of them could not do what PMI is doing now in South Korea.
Seeing what they are accomplishing in the market, leaders in the MLM Korea industry began to wonder, to think and question, “What are they doing differently from the others?“.
I believe it is a question that corporate leaders also need to be asking; especially, those intent to newly launch in South Korea.
